An epic montage of 2D sidescrolling gaming. I have to admit – even though it feels kinda stupid to do so – I wasn’t ready for the nostalgia or the legit emotional impact. Maybe I’m feeling sentimental. Maybe I’m getting old.

This is a 150,000 megapixel image of just 1% of our Milky Way galaxy. Any one of the ONE BILLION stars in this image could theoretically house a solar system with life-sustaining planets like Earth. Further still, understand that this image is only 1/5,000,000,000th of the total viewable universe. Completely humbling and altogether amazing.
Having read The Hunger Games, I’m truly impressed by the amount of research, thought, and time that a bunch of nerds took in creating this map of the 13 Panem districts.

The new wave of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys that will accompany the new series were revealed today. Drawing on the radical style from the IDW comics, I personally think they look great – will purchase, take my moniez, etc.,etc. Also, at first glance, this looks like a toy blog. It’s not.
About a month ago, a co-worker introduced me to Pinterest – this online design-oriented bulletin board/scrap book (no, not a BBS, grandpa). While I still think it’s an awesome site, over the last month, it’s taken a decidedly ”female” turn. Where once was design and geeky posts, now is replaced with dudes with their shirts off, too-skinny models in mod fashions, recipes and pastel home decor. Seriously? Perhaps Pinterest plays at the idea that females are more apt to scrapbook than males…? Worth considering. I like Pinterest. I just hope it doesn’t become too girly…I guess.
Anyway, you can follow me - I try to repin neat stuff. Find the link in the social connection menu at the top.
While I wouldn’t call myself a “collector” of figures, there are a few that I must have for the shelf in my study. And, being a Ninty fanboy, I’ve wanted a decent Samus Aran figure for a while now. Unfortunately, all the good ones are in the $150-$300 range and it’s retarded to pay that much for – what is essentially – a really nice toy. So imagine my delight when this went up for pre-order! $40 for this?! Sold – take my money!
