Spotify recommends me some odd albums. One artist in particular – Futurecop! – has what might be the best album art of any artist I’ve ever seen. Seriously…look at this! And yes, they have a sound that’s exactly what you’d expect.

The new wave of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys that will accompany the new series were revealed today. Drawing on the radical style from the IDW comics, I personally think they look great – will purchase, take my moniez, etc.,etc. Also, at first glance, this looks like a toy blog. It’s not.
About a month ago, a co-worker introduced me to Pinterest – this online design-oriented bulletin board/scrap book (no, not a BBS, grandpa). While I still think it’s an awesome site, over the last month, it’s taken a decidedly ”female” turn. Where once was design and geeky posts, now is replaced with dudes with their shirts off, too-skinny models in mod fashions, recipes and pastel home decor. Seriously? Perhaps Pinterest plays at the idea that females are more apt to scrapbook than males…? Worth considering. I like Pinterest. I just hope it doesn’t become too girly…I guess.
Anyway, you can follow me - I try to repin neat stuff. Find the link in the social connection menu at the top.
I’ve been looking forward to this since the teaser debuted, like, three years ago. It’s ridiculous premise and inspired look had me at “Guten Tag!”.
Seriously…read the summary – it’s too ridiculous too ignore.
Towards the end of World War II the Nazi scientists made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity. From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne (Black Sun) on the dark side of the Moon. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right.
Now it’s 2018, and it’s the time for the first American Moon landing since the 70′s. Meanwhile the Nazi invasion, that has been over 70 years in the making, is on its way, and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom.
How does that not sound awesome?! Iron Sky will finally debut at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 11th. Better late than never…like those Moon Nazis!
While I wouldn’t call myself a “collector” of figures, there are a few that I must have for the shelf in my study. And, being a Ninty fanboy, I’ve wanted a decent Samus Aran figure for a while now. Unfortunately, all the good ones are in the $150-$300 range and it’s retarded to pay that much for – what is essentially – a really nice toy. So imagine my delight when this went up for pre-order! $40 for this?! Sold – take my money!
Some dad (I assume it was a dad) had way too much making this. “Let’s open up this pit!!!”

Best movie of 2011? Probably. Best soundtrack of 2011? Probably. Best jacket of the last decade? Most definitely.
Seriously though, if you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and see this movie. A little on the gory side at times, but it’s beautiful. Instant purchase. And that jacket…I said that jacket!
Ever wanted to live in a world without an entertaining internet? Well, Congress apparently does and as we speak (read?), SOPA/PIPA bills are poised to make the trek around Washington in an effort to stop online piracy, effectively killing any site that shares “unauthorized” content. Sites like Reddit, Facebook and Twitter *gasp!* would all but disappear should this bill be allowed to pass. What can you do? Go here and fill out the quick form. It’ll send a pre-written letter (but add your own comments if you’d like!) to your congressman and let him/her know that you are not okay with this shit.

You’ve made the journey, so for that, I thank you. I got to thinking some time ago that I would redo my website, but rather than a simple portfolio site refresh, I decided I’d much rather do what I’ve always wanted – making my portfolio site encompass a personal blog…so now it does. Also, if you hadn’t heard, I’ve switched my focus of solely motion design to a more heavy focus on graphic/print and motion second. That’s not to say I don’t or won’t do motion – not true – but going forward, I’ll be putting the focus on graphic design which, let’s be honest, that’s where it was in the first place. I just happened to have a good sense of timing and was enamored by the joy of key framing. Still am, but I’m stronger as a graphic designer.
Also, while I hope to keep the blog updated regularly (3+ posts/week is my current goal), life gets busy sometimes, so I’ll try my best…even though no one is really reading it anyhow. Anyway, enjoy the new site!
